Propam Polri Assistant For Investigation Of Police Officers Owners Of TIP Victim Shelters In Lampung

JAKARTA - The National Police's Propam Division pays attention to the investigation of the role or involvement of middle officers (pamen) in the criminal case of trafficking in persons (TPPO) in Bandar Lampung.

The investigation into the role of Pamen is because it is the owner of the house that is used as a shelter for 24 TIP victims.

"Of course, the Lampung Police Propam Bid may also be noticed by the National Police Headquarters Propam to investigate this case," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Friday, June 9.

From the results of the interim examination, the Pamen, who is said to have the initials L and the rank of AKBP, is suspected of renting out his house to the suspect.

However, it has not been confirmed about the National Police Pamen knowing that the tenant has made his house a shelter.

"What is clear is that the house is currently thought to belong to the Lampung Police Pamen, which was rented out to the arrested suspect," he said.

"Then the suspect used the house to accommodate 24 prospective migrant workers who will work in Central Timor," continued Ramadhan.

If later from a series of investigations by the National Police's Pamen is proven to be involved, then strict sanctions will be carried out. It is even possible that the criminal process will be carried out.

"So later if the results of the examination of witnesses, then there is evidence stating that the involvement of the Pamen must be dealt with firmly," said Ramadhan.

For information, 24 women from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) are suspected of being victims of TIP. They were found in a shelter located in Rajabasa Jaya Village, Rajabasa District, Bandar Lampung City.

From the examination, they will be used as Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in the Middle East. In this case, four people were named suspects, namely DW, AL, AR and IT. They are threatened with imprisonment of 3 to 15 years in prison.
