AHY Wants Anies' Vice Presidential Candidate To Be Decided Immediately, NasDem: Not That Easy, Still Dynamic

General treasurer of the NasDem Party Ahmad Sahroni said the announcement of the Vice President Anies Baswedan could not be decided quickly. The reason is that coalition political party communication is still being carried out.

"It's not that easy to announce that Anies Baswedan will be vice presidential because the three coalition parties are still communicating significantly. When, for some days, only the general chairmen know," said Sahroni as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 8.

This follows pressure from the Democratic Party to Anies Baswedan to immediately determine his candidate for vice president. Even so, Sahroni responded casually.

Sahroni actually stated that the Democratic Party's statement was just an appeal because many parties wanted to know the candidate pair for vice president from each presidential candidate.

"The suffering from recent rhetoric, today, is because it wants to be announced as soon as possible," he explained.

Sahroni sees that everything related to the candidacy is still dynamic.

He also believes that the Democratic coalition partners and PKS are still solid with NasDem to support Anies.

"'Right, I said earlier that I was still dynamic, going to the right, left, up, down, it was still dynamic. It just depends on the end of the registration point for the presidential and vice presidential candidates," said Sahroni.

Chairman of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), assesses that if the Coalition for Change for Unity (KPP) accelerates to announce a companion to the prospective presidential candidate (candidate) Anies Baswedan, then the opportunity to win in the 2024 presidential election is greater.

After keeping in touch with the Joint Secretariat (Sekber) of the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB), AHY believes that if the pair will be presidential and vice presidential candidates (cawapres) will not be determined immediately, then the remaining time for consolidation will be narrower; so that coalition work will be more complicated.

"I don't want to make assumptions too much, but I go back to the basic thesis of logic, which is to quickly unite, integrate, both system and person by person, then the level or chance of success should be better," AHY said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 7.
