The Ministry Of Health Claims The Health Bill Is Accommodating Youth Health, Including Reproduction And Narcotics Addiction
JAKARTA - Head of the Communication and Public Service Bureau of the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, revealed that the Draft Health Law (RUU) accommodates the health protection of teenagers in Indonesia.
"Article 46 of the Problem Inventory List (DIM) of the Health Bill and Article 156 concerning adolescent health efforts is aimed at preparing teenagers to become healthy, intelligent, quality, and productive adults," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday, June 6, quoted by Antara.
Nadia said the effort was carried out through health screening, adolescent reproductive health, and adolescent mental health.
The scope of youth health efforts, he continued, includes healthy living behavior, nutrition, dental health, prevention of violence and accidents, reproductive health, disease prevention, mental health, and the dangers of smoking.
According to Nadia, the bill also accommodates the recovery of other health problems such as narcotics abuse, addictive behavior, and other risky behavior.
"Juvenile health efforts are carried out in health facilities, educational units, communities and other supporting facilities outside health facilities to facilitate and create healthy adolescents," he said.

Nadia said the health of teenagers includes nutrition, reproductive health for adolescents, mental health, accident prevention, education for healthy living skills carried out in accordance with the stages of growth and development and needs of adolescents.
In addition, he said, health screening is also carried out for teenagers to find and detect early the risk of health problems in teenagers.
"Premaja is also provided with referral services according to needs that include medical, social, and legal assistance," he said.
Teenagers' participation is carried out by actively involving teenagers in planning, implementation, and evaluation, health services, and empowering teenage counselors or teenage health cadres.
