East Java Deputy Governor Emil Dardak: Sustainable Public Policy Don't Be Mixed With Politics For A Moment
Deputy Governor of East Java Emil Elestianto Dardak said sustainable efforts in public policy are important, and do not mix them with political matters for a moment.
"Let's determine that standard together so that it is not interfered with political interests for a moment," Emil said after a discussion on the public policy panel at the World Alumni Connect Indonesian Student Association (PPI) event in Jakarta as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 26.
According to him, the discourse of sustainable efforts has become an important issue today. The reason is, the impact of climate change is already real, such as an increase in the temperature and level of sea water.
"So, for certain things, politicalojo melo-melo, don't get involved because the climate changes already exist. We have to do a, b, c, d, e, don't negotiate anymore," he said.
The Deputy Governor of East Java assessed that sustainable is a topic that tends not to be heeded. In fact, he said, Indonesia is a country that wants to be one of the pioneers in an effort to tackle climate problems.
Emil invites all parties to encourage moral and practical strength in order to create full awareness that efforts to save the environment are very important.

"Therefore, we need the role of all elements, including the World PPI colleagues, to build a moral force or moral force as well as practical strength. Thus, the public realizes that (yes already, ed.) this is indeed something that we must take," said Emil.
Emil explained that environmental issues and sustainable movements also require the role of technocrats.
"If there are technocrats, the technocrats must be able to color this discourse with the rules that should be followed," he said.
He warned politicians not to use this issue as a mere voter.
"Well, only then can this politician just take the term politically conventional, something that is easy to raise votes," he said.
