Mobile Banking Error, President Director Of BSI Apologizes And Guarantees Safe Customer Funds

JAKARTA PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. (BSI) apologizes for the obstacles experienced by customers in accessing mobile banking services.

Regarding this incident, BSI also emphasized its commitment to maintaining the security of customer funds and data.

President Director of BSI Hery Gunardi said that his party continues to process normalization with a main focus on maintaining funds, customer data remains safe.

"On behalf of Bank Syariah Indonesia, we apologize for the inconvenience of customers due to obstacles in accessing BSI services on May 8, 2023. We have carried out the normalization process of Bank Syariah Indonesia services, with top priority to ensure that customer funds and data remain safe at Bank Syariah Indonesia," said Hery in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, May 10.

On Tuesday 9 May, said Hery, BSI has succeeded in normalizing services on ATM networks and branch offices.

On that day, he continued, customers were able to make transactions on BSI branch and ATM networks spread throughout Indonesia.

Masih pada hari yang sama, Selasa 9 Mei malam, secara bertahap layanan BSI Mobile juga sudah dapat diakses oleh nasabah dengan fitur-fitur basic.

Then today at 14.00 WIB, said Hery, the Company is conducting monitoring and the process of normalizing transactions that have an impact on BSI services cannot be accessed temporarily, namely services at branches, access to BSI Mobile and ATMs throughout Indonesia.

"We will continue to provide the latest information so that customers can transact normally," he explained.

As for the cyber attack, continued Hery, basically BSI will conduct a search on this matter.

"This needs further proof through audits and digital forensics. We continue to coordinate with various parties, both regulators and the government," said Hery.

Hery emphasized BSI's commitment as a banking institution to continue to strengthen cyber defense and security, especially for the benefit of customers.

He stressed that his party continues to remind customers to continue to maintain vigilance and be careful of various forms of fraud and digital crimes on behalf of Bank Syariah Indonesia.

"Once again, we apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for the support and trust given to BSI," he concluded.
