3 Santri Gontor Died As A Result Of Bus Entering Abyss In Parimo, Body Immediately Taken To The Origin Area
PALU - Parigi Moutong Resort Police (Polres) (Parimo), Central Sulawesi said the bodies of the victims of the bus accident that went into a ravine at Kilometer 4 Toboli, Parigi Moutong Regency, would be repatriated to their area of origin.
"Three people died. It has been communicated to the families of the victims, the bodies will be picked up by their respective families," said Parigi Moutong Police Chief AKBP Yudy Arto Wiyono as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 4.
The incident occurred on Wednesday (3/5) night at around 21.30 WITA at kilometer 4 of the Toboli Gardenkopi route. The bus took 33 passengers from the Gontor Islamic Boarding School, Ponorogo, East Java, including the driver and assistant.
Buses passed from the direction of Palu City to the Gontor Islamic Boarding School in Poso Regency. The bus lost control and then went into a ravine due to the brakes and now the victim is still being treated at the Anentaloko Parigi Hospital in the capital city of Parigi Moutong Regency.
"Three victims died on behalf of Muhamad Rizky Pratama from Riau Province, Gustian Erlangga from Palembang, South Sumatra Province and Muhamad Fathir from Manado, North Sulawesi," he said.

Head of Operational Subsection and SAR for the Search and Rescue SAR Office or Basarnas Palu Andi Sultan said the evacuation process by the joint SAR team was sufficient to take time because the victim was at the bottom of the ravine.
"The victim was evacuated to the hospital using an ambulance. The joint SAR team consisted of 30 personnel from the Parigi SAR Post, 13 Parigi Moutong Police personnel, one Babinsa personnel and the rest with the potential for SAR," said Andi.
Reportedly, a bus belonging to PT Rappang Marannu brought a group of students from the Gontor Islamic Boarding School, Ponorogo Regency, East Java, to the Gontor Islamic Boarding School in Poso.
