Secretary General Of Gerindra: Big Coalition Is Good But Parties Have Autonomy
JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani, spoke again about the discourse on forming a grand coalition initiated by five general chairmen of political parties supporting the government. According to him, the idea is good, because Indonesia has to be handled widely with great political power. No, he said, each political party has its own autonomy to determine its position.
"As an idea, a grand coalition is good, because Indonesia is big, this extraordinary population must be taken care of with enormous political power too, but the political party has autonomy," said Muzani in Kertanegara, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Friday, April 28.
Muzani assessed that the big idea took a long time for the leadership of political parties to share one voice. So, it cannot be communicated in a hurry.
"The police have autonomy and their respective households, so that big ideas sometimes need patience, it takes time to convince the leadership of political parties to be together with us," he said. On the other hand, continued Muzani, the matter of determining the future Indonesian leadership candidates must be decided immediately. Therefore, every political party must respect the choice of other political parties.

"The problem is, the timing and time given in this presidential candidate process cannot be prolonged. So in the end, sometimes we respect the choices and decisions of each party," he said.
Muzani reiterated that if the idea of this grand coalition could be accepted by all political parties, the results would certainly be good. But if it is different, he said, then every decision must be accepted by all parties.
"If this big idea can be accepted by all parties, Alhamdulillah. But if all parties have their own way of thinking, we all respect it," he concluded.
