The Company Owned By The Late Conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja Will Expand Business To Geothermal And PLTS
JAKARTA - A company from the Sinarmas group belonging to the late conglomerate Eka Tjipta Widjaja, PT Dian Swastatica Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) will widen its business to renewable energy such as geothermal and solar power plants (PLTS). This is done to support the energy transition in Indonesia.
In an information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website, DSSA Director, Hermawan Tarjono, as one of the parties who signed a letter released on Wednesday, April 26, explained that currently Dian Swastatics is focusing on running four main businesses, namely coal and gold mining and trading, the provision of electricity and steam, technology, as well as the trade in fertilizers and chemicals.
A number of business activities in the coal and gold, technology and fertilizer trade sectors as well as chemicals are run by subsidiaries. Meanwhile, the business of providing electricity and steam is run directly by DSSA,.
"In order to support the world's net zero emissions plan and support business sustainability, the Company plans to focus on developing the geothermal energy business and solar panels," he explained in an official statement.
Hermawan hopes that the business can make a positive contribution to improving the performance of the DSSA electricity and steam supply business.
In the 2022 Annual Report, DSSA Management stated that last year it had prepared geothermal exploration activities.
Meanwhile, through the community, children have also explored opportunities for cooperation and the solar energy business where on November 14, 2022, his party signed a memorandum of understanding of manufacturing and marketing of the solar photovoltaic module in Indonesia.
In the 2022 public expose, DSSA management explained the reason for expanding its business to renewable energy. In the 2021-2030 PLN RUPTL, there is a plan to add a power plant of almost 41 GW, where more than 50 percent are new and renewable energy plants (EBT).
