BPOM Jambi Secures IDR 407 Million State Losses From Food Products Violating Provisions During Ramadan

JAMBI - The Jambi Province Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) has secured food products that do not meet the provisions and do not have a distribution permit with a state loss value of Rp407 million.

"Because there is no distribution permit, the state suffered a loss of Rp407 million," said Head of BPOM Jambi Province Alexander in Jambi Monday, April 17, as reported by Antara.

He explained that the inspection included food distributors in three regencies and takjil in five regencies and cities throughout Jambi Province. As a result, hundreds of products did not meet the provisions and 366 samples met the requirements.

As for foods that do not meet the requirements, the first findings without distribution permit are 25 items and 1,881 pieces, the second is damaged, the support, kempot and flat from one item with seven pieces and only one item or product has expired with 100 pieces.

"Because there is no distribution permit, the state suffered a loss of Rp407 million," said Alexander.

Alezander said the inspection was in order to protect public health from the circulation of processed food products that did not meet the provisions, especially ahead of the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1444 H.

Meanwhile, the POM Center in Jambi supervises food, prioritizing processed food products without a distribution permit (TIE), expiration, and damaged (supporting packages, staining cans, etc.) in food distribution facilities (importers/distributors, shops, supermarkets, hypermarkets, traditional markets, manufacturers and / or sellers of parcels).
