Ombudsman Reminds Government To Take Firm Action On Companies Not Pay Employee THR

The Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia (ORI) Representative of West Sumatra (West Sumatra) reminded the government in the area to firmly take action against companies that do not pay holiday allowances (THR) to employees. "It must be ensured regarding strict law enforcement. This is the most important part," said Head of the Ombudsman representative of West Sumatra Yefri Heriani quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, April 13. West Sumatra Representative Ombudsman has coordinated with representatives of district and city governments in the province regarding the payment of THR Idul Fitri 1444 Hijriah. From that coordination, he said, there are several points that must be followed up by each regional government, including the Manpower Service in each region being asked to immediately create a channel or complaint service THR. "So, not only the Ombudsman, but the Manpower Service also needs to create a complaint channel related to THR payments," he said. In addition, he said 19 districts and cities in West Sumatra are required to prepare human resources (SDM) who are always on standby to monitor any incoming complaints. "Because, if the local government only makes services or complaints channels without providing human resources that handle the THR problem, then it is also ineffective in dealing with problems," he said. The woman who was previously active at the Women Crisis Center of Conscience Woman said in 2022 the institution she led there were no complaints received regarding problematic THR payments.

To ensure that the THR complaint service by the Manpower Office runs properly, he said, the Ombudsman will contact each contact that has been determined. "Ensure that the contact communicates intensively with the person in charge of the representative office is the point we will do," he said.
