Wow, Now WhatsApp Launches a Desktop Application for Windows, Can Chat Up to 32 People!

JAKARTA - Meta launched a new desktop WhatsApp for Microsoft's operating system, namely Windows, which is now available for download. This application brings many new features including group video calls.

Using WhatsApp on a Personal Computer (PC) or Windows usually feels like using a basic web browser version. However, this new app could improve the experience.

Reunion

The WhatsApp Windows app now supports up to eight participant video calls and audio chats with up to 32 people, making it a viable option for corporate gatherings and family reunions to join in on.

WhatsApp says it will increase this limit further to allow larger calls in the future.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg on his Facebook page emphasized that this interaction will be end-to-end encrypted, just like a normal WhatsApp chat on a cellphone.

In addition, several other recent improvements also include updates to multi-device capabilities to make it easier and faster when users link new devices to their accounts, as quoted from Engadget, Friday, March 24.

This instant messaging app also enables better synchronization so that people can simultaneously access their chats on up to four connected devices at once.

It is known that WhatsApp first released a native application for Windows 10 in 2022, and in January this year, it made a beta version of the original application for Mac accessible to all users.

Others, WhatsApp also recently rolled out more control for group admins over their group privacy. Where admin can to decide who can join the group.

When admins choose to share their WhatsApp group invite link, or make their group community-joinable, they now have more control over who can join.
