Sir Dandy: Practice Is Only For Amateur Bands, We Are Professionals
JAKARTA - In an interview on The Maple Media's YouTube channel some time ago, Sir Dandy explained the various uniqueness of his band, Teenage Death Star.
Sir Dandy said the punk rock band from Bandung rarely practiced because they only had one album since 2002.
"So we've only had one album so far. And it's really good, especially now. We're quite visionary, we don't need a lot of albums because the gigs are tiring. And we have to practice, and memorize. We rarely practice, the last one was in 2014 I think," said the singer of the Anggur Merah.
"Practice is for amateur bands, we are professionals. I have memorized all the songs," he joked.
"Even when Vincent became our bassist, we told him to just listen to the songs. He even asked 'what if I'm wrong?' yes, I said that humans are wrong sometimes. But the point is, how can we be happy with those mistakes on stage," he continued.

Apart from practicing, Sir Dandy also conveyed the differences between Teenage Death Star and other bands regarding stage acts.
"When I was at Synchronize 2019, I went down under the stage, just had a drink, and our fans sang. That's what we've always wanted. The audience was happy, and so were we," he explained.
"So yes, the Teenage Death Star audience also understands that enjoying us doesn't have to have full personnel or the same as in the audio," he concluded.
