2 Days Drifting, Basarnas Still Searching For Grandfather Who Fell In Ciujung Serang River

SERANG - Allegedly fell, grandfather Abdul Suku (70) was reported missing allegedly carried away by the current of the Ciujung River, Serang, Banten. Basarnas Banten carried out a sweep of residents swept away in the Ciujung River on Wednesday, March 15, who have yet to be found.

"We hope that on the second day, we can find a victim of drifting in the Ciujung River named Abdul Sukur (70), a resident of RT 08 RW 02, Ragasmesigit Village, Serang Regency," said Banten Basarnas head Adil Triyatno quoted by ANTARA, Friday 17 March.

During the sweep, Basarnas Banten was assisted by the National Police, TNI, sub-district apparatus, BMKG Serang, BPBD Serang Regency, Serang City Damkar, Serang Regency Damkar, KBPGB, FORMEDAN, MDMC, Vertical Rescue, and Scouts Care.

The combined SAR team carried out a search and sweep using rubber boats and outboard motor boats to the mouth of the Ciujung River for 12 kilometers.

"We, together with the joint SAR team, hope that today we can find victims," ​​he said.

According to him, the incident of the victim being washed away in the Ciujung River was after the victim's wife looked for her husband in the Ciujung River.

However, when he was at the Ciujung River, he saw that the stairs used to go down to the river had collapsed and only the victim's sandals were left.

Furthermore, he said, his wife reported the incident to village officials until a search was carried out by a joint SAR team

However, until the third day, the victim had not been found and it was confirmed that he had drifted into the Ciujung River when he was about to bathe in the river.
