IPW Chairman Says Aspri Wamenkumham Report Still Complaints Due To Lack Of Conditions
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) Sugeng Teguh Santoso said that the legal efforts made by Yogi Ari Rukmana as Personal Assistant (Aspri) of the Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights (Wamenkumham) Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej had not yet taken the form of a police report (LP). Rather, only public complaints.
"Appreciate the steps taken by the National Police who were not in a hurry to receive the report from a man named Yogi Arie Rukmana in the form of a police report but received it in the form of a public complaint," said Sugeng in his statement, Wednesday, March 15.
According to him, the legal effort has not been accepted in the form of an LP because it does not meet the requirements. Later, the complaint must also go through a review process before proceeding to the investigation process.
"The report of the male Yogi Arie Rukmana has not met the requirements for reporting a criminal incident. So it is only accepted as a public complaint which will be examined by Bareskrim," he said.
On the other hand, Sugeng asked Bareskrim to reject the complaint. One of the reasons is that he first reported Yogi to the KPK.
Moreover, the alleged crime committed by Yogi is an extraordinary crime that must be handled first.
"Reporting a crime as an extraordinary crime must take precedence over the legal process. So even if there is a complaint of defamation, it must be postponed pending the corruption legal process which is being processed at the KPK," said Sugeng.
As previously reported, Aspri Wamenkumham, and Yogi Ari Rukmana reported Sugeng Teguh Santoso to Bareskrim Polri. The report was suspicious of defamation.
