Responding To Issue Of Golkar Meeting Gerindra-PKB Coalition, PPP: It's Possible To Happen Until The Acceptance Of KPU

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of PPP Arsul Sani, responding to the issue of the Golkar Party joining the Great Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) formed by the Gerindra Party and PKB.

Arsul admitted that the current coalition is not final. So according to him, the fusion or movement of the coalition is still very likely to occur.

"For me, what is called a coalition, whether it's KIB or the Great Awakening Coalition or the Change Coalition, is not a final coalition, so it's still open to increasing or decreasing," Arsul Sani told reporters in South Jakarta, Monday, March 13.

"It is still open that later one of the coalitions will move to another coalition, there is still a possibility," he continued.

However, continued Arsul, it is still too premature to predict that there will be an increase or decrease in political parties that have already formed a coalition.

"I mean for example, why did PPP want to move to another coalition? It's still too premature because of what? Because we haven't talked about who the presidential and vice presidential candidates are," he said.

Even so, the deputy chairman of the MPR said that it was still possible to change the coalition map before the registration of the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election at the RI KPU.

"When talking about possibilities, until we register with the KPU, it can be denied. Everything is still possible, it's not specific, it's still possible until we get consent granted at the KPU," said Arsul.

Previously, PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) said that his party continued to communicate intensively with the Golkar Party. In fact, according to him, the Golkar Party is very close to the Great Indonesia Awakening coalition (KIR) formed by Gerindra-PKB.

"We communicate intensively with Golkar, they are very close, which means PKB and Gerindra Golkar are getting closer. But this closeness is a point to strengthen the PKB-Gerindra coalition," said Cak Imin during the Women's Day Run 10K competition in Jakarta, Sunday, March 12.

It is known that Cak Imin met Golkar chairman Airlangga Hartarto at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, last Sunday, February 10.

During the meeting, Cak Imin and Airlangga both opened up opportunities for coalitions, either PKB joining KIB formed by Golkar, PAN, and PPP or vice versa, Golkar joining the KIR coalition formed by Gerindra-PKB. There is even the possibility that KIB and KIR will merge into one big coalition.
