Indonesian Navy Deploys 2 KRI to Send Assistance for Landslide Victims in Serasan Natuna
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Navy deployed Republic of Indonesia Warships (KRI) Imam Bonjol-383 and KRI Bontang - 907 carrying Ranai Naval Base (Lanal) Personnel, soldiers from the IV Natuna Marine Composite Company Task Force, volunteers and related agencies to Serasan Island to support the evacuation of victims of the landslide disaster.

After the landslide occurred, the Indonesian Navy deployed 20 personnel using the KRI Ranai Naval Base (Lanal) to provide medical support to help victims affected by natural disasters.
In addition, Ranai Naval Base established a Serasan Island Natural Disaster Post at Ranai Naval Base Headquarters and the Selat Lampa Navy Facility for the distribution of social assistance, health posts, evacuation posts and Disaster Preparedness on Serasan Island.
"Ranai Naval Base is ready to deploy additional personnel if needed to support the activities of the Avalanche Disaster Task Force on Serasan Island", he said.
Apart from personnel assistance, the two KRIs were also intended for the families of the victims who were in Ranai to go to Serasan and transport logistics for the victims.

The KRI departed for Serasan via the Indonesian Navy Harbor in the Lampa Strait. In addition to the KRI Imam Bonjol and KRI Bontang, fast boats owned by the Natuna Regency Government have also been prepared to bring logistical assistance to the victims.
