The Reason For This Volunteer Declaring Anies As A Presidential Candidate, A Figure With Great Capacity And Vision He Said

SEMARANG - Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan was declared a presidential candidate by volunteers from the Army Youth Force Anies Baswedan (Army AMAN) Central Java. Why did they choose Anies?

"He is considered to have an extraordinary capacity and track record, both as an academic and as a public official," said the chairman of the DPD, Laskar AMAN Central Java, Slamet Sudarso in a written statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday 14 February.

Slamet said Anies Baswedan was an intellectual figure and had big visions and convincing ideas for Indonesia's progress and change. On that basis, volunteers declared that the former Minister of Education and Culture would advance in the 2024 Presidential Election.

He, who is also a former PDI Perjuangan cadre, explained that this political support was based on a rational and objective assessment. The reason is, he believes Anies Baswedan can bring justice, equality, and prosperity to the people of the country.

One of the reasons for giving support to Anies Baswedan is to reflect on his success when leading DKI Jakarta. The former Chancellor of Paramadina University is considered a volunteer leading the capital city with heart and providing services without discrimination.

"This is what we believe, the figure of Mr. Anies Baswedan is a person who can lead the Indonesian nation," he said.

He hopes that this declaration will become a political force that must be strengthened by various other volunteer groups to support and win Anies Baswedan in the 2024 presidential election.

In line with that, the general chairman of the Indonesian Youth Army, Anies Baswedan, Ervanus Tou said that the declaration in Central Java was proof that Anies Baswedan could be accepted and supported by various groups of people without exception in Central Java.

Meanwhile, Anies Baswedan's spokesperson, Indra Charismiadji, said that Anies Baswedan advised him to always maintain unity and oneness.

"Don't get caught up in hateful narratives that can lead to divisions," he said.

Indra Charismiadji then conveyed Anies' message, "The 2024 democracy party must go on happily, full of brotherhood and dignity."

He argues that different choices are commonplace in democracy. However, every nation's children are encouraged to avoid mutual hatred or hostility.

"We are still brothers. We also don't need to force people to vote for Mr. Anies, but instead we invite them to be friends without hatred," he said.
