Lukas Enembe's Facts Revealed By KPK While In Detention Center: Health Check 4 Times A Day, Can Change His Own Clothes

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that the non-active Papua Governor Lukas Enembe was questioned four times a day while at the Pomdam Jaya Guntur Detention Center (Rutan). The doctor routinely examines the suspected bribery and gratuity.

"Every day the KPK medical team conducts health checks and monitoring and reports four times a day by prison officers on suspect LE," Head of KPK News Section Ali Fikri told journalists, as quoted on Wednesday, February 8.

Lukas also carried out activities like a prisoner, said Ali. "He can talk, eat and drink, take his own medicine, change his own clothes, and even bathe himself," he said.

These conditions, continued Ali, are in accordance with the doctor's statement that Lukas deserves to be examined as a suspect. So, there is no more reason to bring him to Singapore.

"LE is also able to understand the case at hand and is also able to defend himself in this case," he said.

"So far, LE suspects do not need to be referred to Singapore. Moreover, health facilities in Indonesia are adequate," continued Ali.

Previously, Lukas Enembe sent a letter to the KPK asking to be allowed to go to Singapore. He claims KPK chairman Firli Bahuri promised this when he saw conditions in Jayapura, Papua before he was detained.

"My health condition is getting worse while in the KPK detention center. Please understand my health so that I can immediately leave for Singapore this week," said Lukas as quoted in the letter, Tuesday, February 7.

The letter was written directly by Lukas on January 29. He reminded the promise made by Firli.

"In accordance with your commitment and promise last month to seek treatment in Singapore," he said.
