Thailand Masters 2023: 2 Indonesian Men's Doubles Stepping On Steps Into The Second Round

JAKARTA - Two Indonesian men's doubles, Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Rambitan, managed to qualify for the second round of Thailand Masters 2023.

Bagas/Fikri beat the host pair while competing at Nimibutr National Stadium on Tuesday, January 31 afternoon.

The Indonesian men's doubles effort to win a ticket from the host went smoothly. Bagas/Fikri only need 30 minutes to win directly with a score of 21-17 and 21-14.

This success made them move into the second half. In the next match they will have the potential to face a duel with their own brothers.

They will face the winner of the match between Indonesian representatives, Sabar Gautama/Mohammad Reza who will fight the Malaysian champion, Low Hang Yee/Ng Eng Cheong.

Meanwhile, Pramudya/Yeremia qualified after coming out as the winner of the match against representatives of Malaysia, Goh V Shem/Lim Khim Wah, through the rubber game. They won with a score of 21-19, 19-21 and 21-14.

In the men's singles number, Christian Adinata also did not want to lose. Facing Danish representative Magnus Johannesen, he managed to win in two games with a score of 21-11 and 21-18 to then challenge Japanese representative Riku Hatano.

Another Indonesian representative who managed to qualify was in the mixed doubles number. Amri Syahnawi/Winny Oktavia who challenged the hosts, Patharathorn Nipornram/Alisa Sapniti, won in two straight games with a score of 21-18 and 21-15.

Next they will face South Korean representatives, Jin Yong/Shin Seung Chan in the second round.

Meanwhile, the women's doubles, Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto, managed to win two games over eighth seed, Ng Tsz Yau/Tsang Shark Yan. They won 21-16 and 21-19.
