Netflix Presents New Interface Refresh for iPhone and iPad Users
JAKARTA - Netflix just rolled out a major update to its iPhone and iPad app this week, completely changing the interface (UI) of the platform.
Netflix designer Janum Trivedi shared the UI refresh video via his Twitter account. One of the big changes is the billboard layout for featured content that responds when the user moves the device.
The lighting in the app will change, making it seem as though movies and TV shows are moving with the phone.
The new interface also includes wallpaper views that will take colors from movie or TV show posters, new look transitions between apps, as well as other types of changes to animations and haptics that give off little vibrations to help you move.
Trivedi stated, Netflix has tested the new display and it works, “Netflix is huge on metrics and AB testing, and this is a very significant win overall,” Trivedi tweeted.
"Don't let anyone try to tell you craft and quality aren't important to business," he added.
The Netflix app on iPhone and iPad has never been laggy or unappealing, but this refresh is still a significant improvement.
Launching BGR, Wednesday, January 18, everything in the application feels faster, from switching profiles to previewing titles. If users frequently watch Netflix on their iPhone or iPad, they will definitely appreciate all these changes after updating.

And best of all, the update is available now in the App Store. Make sure the app is updated to the latest version (15.14.0) to get the new interface.
For information, the change occurred when Netflix celebrated 16 years as a streaming service. In January 2007, the company announced they would let people watch movies and TV over the Internet, without even having to download them.
The move marked a major breakthrough from what used to be companies sending DVDs via e-mail. However, the update doesn't appear to coincide with the anniversary, but instead brings major changes to how people navigate the streaming app.
