Putri Candrawathi's Supporters Regarding Prosecutor's Conclusion About Affair: Not Thinking About The Psychology Of Children And Families

JAKARTA - The defendant Putri Candrawathi's supporters said that the conclusion of the public prosecutor (JPU) regarding the affair was completely baseless. In fact, it seems as if he doesn't think about the psychological impact on his client's children or family.

"(The prosecutor, red) did not think about the impact of the baseless accusation on the psychological situation of Mrs. Putri, the children, and the family. So we really regret that," said Putri Candrawathi's legal adviser, Febri Diansyah, to reporters, Wednesday, January 18.

The prosecutor's conclusion was considered not referring to strong evidence. So, it can be said that it is only an assumption.

On the other hand, during the trial process the rape incident that was experienced by Putri Candrawathi was corroborated by four pieces of evidence.

"But it is twisted as if something different happened and that in our view could have an impact on the victim becoming a victim repeatedly or double victimization in sexual violence," said Febri

Meanwhile, on the previous occasion, the prosecutor concluded that there was no element of rape or sexual harassment against Putri Candrawathi behind the alleged premeditated murder of Yosua alias Brigadier J. Instead, the events that occurred in Magelang were an affair.

"It is true that on Thursday 7 July 2022, around the afternoon at FS's house in Magelang, an affair occurred between victim J and witness PC," said the prosecutor.

There was no element of rape or sexual harassment because the prosecutor disagreed with the expert statement from the Indonesian Forensic Psychology Association (Apsifor), Reni Kusuma Wardhani, at a trial some time ago.

At that time, the expert stated that there had been incidents of sexual harassment or violence.

The prosecutor actually trusted the testimony of the polygraph expert, Aji Febrianto Ar-Rosyid, who said that there was an incident in Magelang, namely Putri Candrawathi's affair with Brigadier J.

Apart from that, the conclusion was also based on the prosecutor's belief with the testimony of Sesro Provos Divpropam Polri Kombes Sugeng Putut Wicaksono, household assistant, Susi, and the testimony of the accused Bharada Richard Eliezer.

During the trial, the witnesses never knew that Brigadier J had raped or sexually assaulted Putri Candrawathi.

"There was no harassment on 7 April 2022 in Magelang but rather an affair between the witness Putri Candrawathi and the victim Yosua Hutabarat," said the prosecutor.
