Increase Capital Access For MSMEs, BSI Ready To Cull Cluster KUR Distribution
PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk as one of the banks that distribute People's Business Credit (KUR) is ready to spur the expansion of the distribution of KUR clusters in the country to increase access to capital for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector or MSMEs.
President Director of BSI Hery Gunardi said the expansion of KUR Cluster distribution was intended so that national MSME players could compete and advance to class.
"One way is by distributing KUR Clusters for all sectors so that they can be empowered from upstream to downstream according to the direction of the President. We will encourage the acceleration of financing and assistance for MSMEs," said Hery in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, December 20.
In distributing KUR Clusters, BSI targets MSME customers who are members of the ecosystem of community institutions, fostered groups, or social groups both formal and informal who have micro-scale business activities and sustainable vision.
It was recorded that until November 2022, BSI had distributed KUR Syariah financing of IDR 12.2 trillion or had reached 97.2 percent of the target KUR quota given by the government to BSI.
In addition to capital support, BSI also provides assistance in business development through training, licensing, marketing to Islamic financial literacy.
"BSI is ready to provide Islamic financial literacy so that BSI KUR customers, which number 112,000 people, can be educated by this synergy," said Hery.
In addition, BSI will collaborate to carry out curation and identification to MSMEs that are eligible to advance to class, starting from the process of identifying MSME characteristics in the regions.
The company's steps, continued Hery, are also in line with the message conveyed by SOE Minister Erick Thohir to develop the MSME sector to create a people's economy with a sustainable supply chain.
For BSI itself, the program will be implemented in areas that have the most KUR in seven regions including Aceh, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Jambi, East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, and the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
Currently, BSI continues to encourage customers of Islamic KUR to advance to class so that in terms of access to capital, it can be increased and their business development capacity can expand.
Previously, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave directions so that banks could expand and increase the distribution of KUR clusters to various sectors. It aims to increase sales and business models of MSMEs.
"I think that if there are more cluster KUR models, they can later enter the breeders, both meat and laying, they can later enter the fishermen who are related to the pond," Jokowi said in his remarks during the KUR submission of the KUMKM Cluster at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, December 19 yesterday.
Jokowi said he was happy with the existence of KUR Clusters which are currently developing. Currently, as many as 39.4 million MSMEs have taken advantage of the KUR model. The President gave an example of a horticultural cluster involving MSMEs from Islamic boarding schools.
