Theft with Damaged and Broken School Doors, Gangster Motive 'We are TOM' in Bogor Wants to Buy Drugs

BOGOR - The Bogor Resort Police, West Java, has revealed the motives of the thieves and vandals of the Cihideung Ilir 04 Elementary School, Ciampea, Bogor Regency. It turned out that they did vandalism to smooth out the theft to buy drugs.

Bogor Police Chief AKBP Iman Imanuddin said his staff found evidence of marijuana-type drugs from the hands of one of the perpetrators.

"From one of the perpetrators with the initials MI, we secured a handful of marijuana. We secured them in a rented house in the Cihideung Ilir area", he said when he released the disclosure of the gangster case at the Bogor Police Headquarters, Cibinong, Antara, Tuesday, November 8.

According to the Police Chief, the four perpetrators of theft and vandalism with the initials MA, MI, DH, and KW were arrested in a rented house in the Cihideung Ilir area, Ciampea District, Bogor, on Thursday night, November 3, 2022. However, there is still one other perpetrator with the initials G who is still a fugitive.

For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison. As for the perpetrators who were found to be carrying marijuana, they are currently being processed by the Bogor Police Narcotics Investigation Unit.

Previously, the Head of the Ciampea Police Sector, Commissioner Beben Susanto, explained that the crime took place on October 31, 2022, at around 02.30 WIB and it was suspected that the perpetrator was from one of the gangster groups because there were several graffiti on the blackboard and the floor of the school building.

Some of the purple ink scribbles read "We are TOM", "TOM Bogor", and "TOM Bogor Gangster".

Commissioner Beben said the perpetrators entered the school area by climbing the wall. After that, the perpetrators vandalized the door and unplugged the surveillance camera (CCTV) cable.

"As a result of the theft, several items in the school, such as two printer units and two focus units, were taken away by the perpetrators", he said.

Police officers secured some evidence after investigating the crime scene, including a pair of sandals, two markers, printer ink, the typex, a thermometer gun, a pair of shoes, and one piece of iron.
