There's A Scenario Behind Mayweather's Victory Over Asakura, From Payouts To Who Should Win

JAKARTA - Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr won a duel against Mikuru Asakura, a Japanese MMA fighter, last weekend. However, there is controversy that hangs over the man nicknamed 'Money'.

Mayweather claims he earned $20 million for his duel with Asakura. However, a number of parties called these claims untrue.

UFC retiree Chael Sonnen took to his YouTube channel to watch the exhibition fight saying Mayweather would not be paid as much as he said he would.

"Floyd claims he will get 20 million dollars for this (duel). I call it an exaggeration because they don't really [fight]'," Sonnen said, quoted by Marca, Wednesday.

"But whatever they prepare to perform in Japan, whatever it looks like boxing, he's got eight million dollars.

“Now, eight is a beautiful number. But he admits to getting 20. So I feel because I know the real numbers, I can't just sit there.

"I had to come to you guys. I had a journalistic obligation to come and tell you it was actually eight million dollars and he was exaggerating."

Sonnen went further in his complaint against 'Money' and alleged that there was a scenario behind the fight.

"If Floyd can go in there and get eight million dollars for whatever it is and he doesn't have to work so hard, he doesn't have to train at all because the script is on his side and they've already told him who lost and when, that's not something that's going to happen. want me to copy?"

After fighting Asakura, Mayweather will again have an exhibition duel on November 13 against Youtuber Deji in Dubai. Sonnen again commented on the plan he called the duel worth millions of dollars.

"It (in Dubai) might as well be scripted like the things he did in Japan, I didn't actually know that, I've never seen that, it was like a small private event," he explained.

Mayweather maintains his career undefeated status (50-0) with his last professional fight coming in 2017 against mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor.

Since then, Money has faced Logan Paul, Tenshin Nasukawa and Don Moore in an exhibition bout as well as last weekend's final match against Asakura.
