Mother Who Throws Baby Into A Trash Can Admits She Is Pregnant Before Marriage, Her Lover Runs Away
SERANG - Suspect AM (19) was arrested by the Serang Criminal Investigation Unit for allegedly dumping a baby girl in a trash can, in Kawall Village, Tambak Village, Kibin District, Serang Regency on Friday, September 16, last.
Serang Police Chief AKBP Yudha Satria said AM is the biological mother of a poor baby who was dumped in a trash can not far from where she rented. The baby girl was finally found by residents in a lifeless state.
"Between the scene of the disposal of the baby and the suspect's contracted house, there is only 20 meters apart," said AKBP Yudha Satria in a written statement, Tuesday, September 26.
Yudha also explained that AM was previously pregnant due to an illicit relationship with her own lover. Because of fear and panic, the suspect finally smothered her newborn baby until it ran out of oxygen.
"So on Thursday night (15 September) the suspect felt heartburn and finally gave birth to the baby, alone in the bathroom. Because of panic and fear that neighbors could hear the baby's cry, the suspect finally covered the poor baby's mouth. And at 04.30 am, she threw the baby away into the trash can," said Yudha.
The arrest of AM by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cikande Police and the PPA Unit of the Serang Police was assisted through information from local residents who were suspicious of the suspect's behavior.
During an examination at the Bhayangkara Hospital, Serang City, Yudha continued, the suspect's body was found to have tears in his vagina and breasts that were still producing milk.

"The results of the examination, it is strongly suspected that AM is a woman who has just given birth," he explained.
From the results of the examination, the suspect admitted that the baby found in the barrel was a newborn baby. In front of officers, AM confessed that she was afraid and ashamed of being pregnant out of marriage.
She also admitted that the baby who was thrown in the trash was the result of an illicit relationship with her boyfriend she knew in Tangerang.
She also admitted, had 4 times sexual intercourse like husband and wife. However, after becoming pregnant, she lost contact with her boyfriend, so the man she knew from Pandeglang did not know about her pregnancy.
"For her actions, our suspect is subjected to law number 17 of 2016 concerning child protection, and article 80 paragraph 3, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison," concluded the police chief.
