Case Of Alleged Corruption Of Lukas Enembe Personal Responsibility, Papuan Religious Leaders Remind People Not To Hinder Legal Process
PAPUA - Papuan religious leaders have appealed to the people of Earth of Cendrawasih not to hinder the legal process currently being faced by the Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe.
Pastor Alberth Yoku said the alleged corruption case involving Lukas Enembe was the personal responsibility of the number one person in Papua Province.
"Every state official has taken an oath of office at the time of his inauguration, so in carrying out his work he must remember God, and must follow the regulations in the applicable law," he said in a written statement, as quoted from Antara, Monday, September 26.
According to Alberth, who is also the chairman of the Jayapura Regency Religious Communication Forum (FKUB), his party appealed to the public not to provoke the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against Governor Lukas Enembe.
"We believe that the KPK acted professionally against Governor Lukas Enembe as the anti-corruption agency has shown against regional heads (Regents) in the Papua region who have been involved in corruption cases," he said.
He explained that law enforcement efforts made to the Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe and the regents in Papua were in accordance with the law so they had to be processed according to existing procedures.

Alberth added that his party also hopes that community leaders must have a professional attitude and account for everything that is done and cooperate with law enforcement authorities in order to resolve legal cases.
In addition to being cooperative, he said, people and leaders in Papua are also advised to respect legal decisions and not to intervene so as not to cause mistakes that incriminate the Governor or cause other polemics.
"The public must be calm and support the legal process that is valid, fair, honest and open to the interests of the state," he said.
