Yellow Carded By The Referee For His Celebration After Scored Goal Against Maccabi Haifa, Neymar: Football Is Getting Boring!

JAKARTA - Neymar expressed his frustration with the referee who officiated the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) versus Maccabi Haifa match. He protested because he felt the referee did not give freedom and respect to athletes on the field.

Quoted from Canal Supporters, Thursday, the incident began when Neymar appeared to defend PSG in the 2022/2023 Champions League group stage match. In the match that took place at the Sammy Ofer Stadium, Israel, Thursday, September 14 in the morning WIB, PSG won 3-1 over the host.

In that match, Neymar contributed one goal in the 88th minute to ensure PSG's victory became 3-1. Successfully breaking into the opponent's goal, the Brazilian then celebrated.

However, the celebration which was done by waving both hands beside his ears actually made him receive a yellow card from the referee. Daniel Siebert, who led the match, warned Neymar for making fun of opposing supporters.

Neymar, who felt that he did not have any confrontation, was immediately disappointed. Through a story on his Instagram, the former Barcelona player protested the referee's decision which was considered unreasonable.

"I got a yellow card for doing nothing. Football is getting boring!", wrote Neymar.

Because of that incident, Neymar felt that as an athlete he had no place for expression. Because the referee doesn't seem to give a chance for anything that happens on the field.

"Now I ask, okay?", "Totally disrespectful to athletes" or "Totally lacking respect to athletes", he said.
