Mahfud MD Admits Bjorka’s Hacking Activity, But Claims No Secret Data Was Revealed

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD confirmed that the hack had occurred. However, he made sure that the hacked data was not classified as a secret, even if it had been widely spread.

This was conveyed by Mahfud in response to the actions of a hacker or hacker named Bjorka. He has done a number of things, from claiming to have data on correspondence for President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to opening up the perpetrators of the murder of human rights activist, Munir.

"I make sure (hacking, ed) that it did happen," Mahfud said at a press conference broadcast on the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs YouTube video on Monday, September 12.

This certainty, continued Mahfud, was based on reports from a number of institutions, one of which was the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN). However, the former Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court (MK) asked the public not to be noisy.

Mahfud said the data is also not new and confidential data. So, this does not harm the country.

"But it could also actually not be confidential data. That's data that can be taken from where, but coincidentally the same," he said.

Even so, the government ensures that it continues to pay attention to this hacking issue. Later, a meeting will be held to take further action regarding the incident.

"Therefore, it will still be investigated. The government will still have a meeting about this," he said.

"So there is nothing dangerous about the issues that have arisen. Those are issues that are already in the newspapers every day," continued Mahfud.

Previously reported, Bjorka continues to carry out the action. He had leaked the personal identity of the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate.

In addition, Bjorka also revealed the figure of Munir's killer. Through his Twitter account, @bjokarnism, he said that the perpetrator of Munir's murder was Muchdi Purwopranjono.

In addition, the personal data of Muchdi, who is currently the chairman of the Berkarya Party, was also shared by Bjorka. Starting from the Population Identification Number (NIK) to the cellphone number and address, the hacker spreads it on his account.
