Many G20 Delegates Visit Nature Tourism, Optimistic Regent of Belitung is Increasingly Global

TANJUNG PANDAN - The Regent of Belitung, the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands, Sahani Saleh, believes that the tourism sector in the area is becoming more global or known to the world community after successfully holding the G20 Development Ministerial Meeting (DMM) on 7 to 9 September 2022.
"I am quite sure that the tourism sector in Belitung with the beauty of natural attractions such as clean beaches is increasingly recognized by the world community", he said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, September 11.
He said the belief was after several G20 delegates from around the world saw firsthand the beauty of Belitung beach tourism and gave great appreciation.
In addition to tourism, said the Regent, the production of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) which was also displayed during the G20 implementation also received serious attention because of its good characteristics and good product quality.
"The tourism sector and MSMEs cannot be separated, these two sectors are expected to be able to grow in the future so that they can make a major contribution to community development and welfare", he said.
Previously, the Italian Ambassador to Indonesia, Benedetto Latteri, praised the beauty of the beaches in Belitung such as the beach in front of the Sheraton Belitung Resort hotel.

He admitted that Belitung beach with seawater that is still kept clear and has good sand has the potential to be promoted to global tourists so that more foreign tourists will visit the area.
Benedetto Latteri, also admitted that he was impressed by the friendliness of MSME actors and was interested in several products such as batik, honey, and other culinary delights.
He assessed that MSME actors with various products could encourage economic development in the area
"Small businesses like this will encourage local economic development and I wish them the best", he said.
