European Champions League Schedule 2022/2023 Tonight: There Is A Big Match PSG Versus Juventus
JAKARTA The European Champions League group stage 2022/2023 season begins Tuesday, September 6 tonight. There will be a big match between Paris Saint-Germain vs Juventus.
Les Parisien and Juventus will face each other on the first matchday of Group H at the Parc des Princes Stadium, Paris, France, Wednesday, September 7 at 02.00 in the morning WIB.
The two European giants have never faced each other in a competitive match since the Old Lady won the 9-2 aggregate in the 1996 European Super Cup.
Much has changed after that, especially in PSG which was taken over by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011. Since then, this French giant has become one of Europe's competitors.
However, they have never had the European Champions League title. They have so far only reached one final in the competition in 2020 but lost 0-1 to Bayern Munich.
Then PSG's trip last season only reached the round of 16. They were eliminated from the round after losing 2-3 to Real Madrid in a two-legged match.
Their failure in Europe left Mauricio Pochettino fired from the coaching chair. Les Parisien later appointed Christophe Galtier as the Argentine coach's successor.
Under Galtier's tutelage, PSG has shown itself to be one of Europe's favorites this season after recording five wins and one draw from six matches they have played in Ligue 1 France.
As for the other side, Juventus started this season with a series of unsatisfactory results. Picked two wins and got three draws from five matches in the Italian Serie A.
Then in the European Champions League, they have not qualified for the quarter-finals since losing in the finals to Barcelona and Real Madrid in 2015 and 2017, respectively. After that, they lost to Lyon, Benfica, and Villarreal in the 16th round of the last three seasons.
Just like the previous edition of the Champions League. This year, the highest caste competition between European clubs was still attended by 32 of the best teams divided into eight groups.
Each group contains four teams that will play away games. Thus, each team automatically had to undergo four matches to find the two best teams that qualified for the knockout round.
