Police Fire Ex-Chief Of Soekarno Hatta Airport, Receive Money For Drug Evidence
JAKARTA - The former Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Chief, Commissioner Edwin Hatorangan Hariandja, was fired from the National Police for receiving money from his subordinates who came from confiscated goods.
"Commissioner Edwin is also suspected of receiving money from the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit originating from evidence confiscated from the handling of the case", said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, in his statement, Wednesday, August 31.
Edwin received 225 thousand United States (US) dollars and 376 thousand Singapore dollars. The money was used for personal gain.
With this acceptance, Edwin as the superior investigator is considered not to supervise and control the handling of the Police Report case Number: LP/103/K/VI/2021/RESTA BSH dated June 30, 2021.
The dismissal was the result of a trial of the Professional Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) which was held on Tuesday, August 30. Edwin was found guilty and sentenced to dishonorable dismissal (PTDH).
"Based on the results of the KKEP trial, alleged violators were proven to have carried out non-professionalism and abuse of authority, so the commission decided that the sanctions were ethical, namely the behavior of violators was declared a disgraceful act, and administrative sanctions in the form of Disrespectful Dismissal (PTDH) as members of the National Police", said Dedi.
However, the verdict is not yet final. Because in the trial Edwin declared an appeal.
In the series of violations and the KKEP trial process, the Head and Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Soekarno Hatta Airport Police, AKP Nasrandi and Iptu Triono A, were also sanctioned with dismissal as members of the Police.
Then, the Head of the Narcotics Unit at the Soetta Airport Police, Iptu Pius Sinaga, who was involved, was sentenced to five years of demotion.

Meanwhile, seven NCO personnel who are members of the Narcotics Unit of the Soetta Airport Police were vaccinated against demotion for two years.
The dismissal of 10 members of the National Police is the commitment of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to eradicating the involvement of Bhayangkara Corps members in the network of drugs and gambling.
"This step is a form of the National Police Chief's commitment to taking firm action against members who play with crimes, especially drugs and gambling", said Dedi.
