Olivia Wilde Reveals Why She Replaced Shia Labeouf In Don't Worry Darling
JAKARTA - Director Olivia Wilde finally opened up about the reasons for replacing Shia LaBeouf in the film Don't Worry Darling. In 2020, LaBeaouf pulled out of production citing colliding schedules.
But at that time a source said the actor's behavior affected the filming process. Shia LaBeouf is said to have quarreled with several cast and crew including Olivia Wilde.
In a recent interview with Variety, Olivia Wilde said she has a different vision from the former FKA Twigs.
“I say this as a person who admires his work. The process wasn't conducive to achieving the ethos I wanted in production," said Olivia Wilde.
"He has a process that requires aggressive energy and I'm not sure that will be conducive to performing well."
Wilde explained that as a director, he was trusted to create a conducive environment.
“I believe that creating a safe work environment is the best thing for people to do good work. My responsibility is to the production and the cast to protect them," said Olivia Wilde.
However, Wilde did not explain specifically what the conflict between them and LaBeouf was. LaBeouf's role as Jack was replaced by Harry Styles.
It is known that a few months later, FKA Twigs sued Shia LaBeouf for sexual assault. The actor also denied this and underwent therapy at a health facility.
The film Don't Worry Darling tells of Alice (Florence Pugh) and Jack (Harry Styles) living in an experimental town called Victory. Jack also gets a job for the Victory Project as well as a number of interesting perks. The film will hit theaters starting September 23.
