Twitch Now Allows Partners To Go Live On YouTube And Facebook Platforms

JAKARTA - Streaming platform Twitch shared an update to its partner program, where now Twitch is providing exclusive capabilities for all Twitch partners.

As for that capability, the application will allow partners to stream on rival platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and many more.

In its announcement, Twitch said that these new capabilities will give streamers the flexibility to explore outside of the platform.

"Partners and affiliates are allowed to create live content on other platforms. This means that you have more flexibility to explore how to use different and off-platform features to further build your community," Twitch wrote in its announcement.

In an email sent to TechCrunch, the company said it still believes Twitch is the best place for creators to build and engage with communities.

But we also recognize that the digital landscape has changed since we first introduced the partner program and that many of you are engaging with your community in various places. So, we updated our policy," the company added.

On the FAQ page, this update applies to most partners on Twitch. However, you are not allowed to simulcast on web-based services that support long-time streaming such as Youtube and Facebook.

"Because we believe engaging with two streams at once can lead to a sub-optimal experience for your community," explains the company.

But you don't have to worry if you want to reach a wider audience, therefore, simulcasting in short form on Tiktok or Instagram Live is allowed.
