Academics Ask For Independent Selection To Enter Unila To Be Improved Transparently And Openly

LAMPUNG - University of Lampung (Unila) FKIP academic M Thoha B Sampurna Jaya asked for the independent selection to enter the University of Lampung (Simanila) to be improved in a transparent and open manner.

"The thing that needs to be considered is this independent pathway system, because it can lead to actions that are corrupt in nature," said Former Deputy Chancellor 3 for Student Affairs and Alumni for the 2000-2008 period, M Thoha B Sampurna Jaya, quoted from Antara, Sunday, August 22.

According to him, this independent entry route provides an opportunity for those who are unable to penetrate the SNMPTN and SBMPTN to use transactional methods to enter Unila.

"Frankly, I am surprised and saddened by the incident that happened to Unila, but indeed corruption can occur in universities," he said.

He said that the arrest by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) against Unila officials is a moral problem that must be corrected as well.

"The moral issue is a moral record for those who occupy positions. In the future whoever leads must maintain the good name (muruah) of Unila's alma mater," he said.

For your information, the KPK has named four people as suspects in the alleged bribery case of accepting new student candidates at the University of Lampung (Unila) in 2022.

The four suspects are Rector of Unila Karomani (KRM), Deputy Chancellor I for Academic Affairs Unila Heryandi (HY), Chair of the Unila Senate Muhammad Basri (MB), and Andi Desfiandi (AD) as the bribe giver.
