Woman In Tasikmalaya Dies While Participating In Sack Race, Sincere Family
WEST JAVA - A woman named Rini (29) died while participating in the August competition to celebrate the 77th Indonesian Independence Day. Rini fell while participating in a sack race with other residents.
The Mangkubumi Police Chief said the incident occurred in Gunung Bubut Village, Mangkubumi, Tasikmalaya City, West Java, Wednesday, August 17, at 11.00 WIB.
"The incident happened when people died while participating in the 77th Indonesian Independence Day competition," said Iptu Hartono in a statement received by VOI, Thursday, August 18.
Hartono recounted that the incident began when the victim of a sack race was celebrating the 77th Indonesian Independence Day. While engrossed in the race, the victim fell unconscious.
"The victim was immediately taken to the Kayla Clinic but when he arrived at the clinic and was examined the victim was declared dead," he said.
Based on the family's information, the victim was known to have hypertension and had just given birth for 2 months. Therefore, the family considers the incident as a disaster.
"The victim's family accepts this incident as a disaster and will not sue anyone for the incident," he concluded.
