Police Shoot Thief Specialist At Kuta Boarding House, 'On Display' Afterwards At The Bali Bombing Ground Zero Monument
BADUNG - The Kuta, Bali Police Sector Team has arrested the perpetrator of the theft named Armando Sihombing (28). He has acted 6 times at boarding houses in the Kuta area.
The suspect was shot in the right calf as he tried to escape when he was arrested. The perpetrators were also displayed at the Ground Zero Monument, the Bali Bombings. The goal is to create a deterrent effect on perpetrators who carry out their actions in the Kuta area.
"We secured the suspect and after conducting interrogation the suspect admitted to having committed theft and weighting at six crime scenes. Three in the Kuta area, two in South Kuta, and one in South Denpasar. When we carried out security, we carried out decisive and measured actions (shot)", said Kuta Police Chief AKP Yogie Pramagita, Tuesday, August 16.
The arrests were made after the police received reports from three victims in the Kuta area. The perpetrator was arrested on Monday, August 15.
Perpetrators are known to target boarding houses by pretending to be tenants. If the occupants are careless, the perpetrator steals the victim's belongings from the boarding room.
"The suspect is a boarding specialist and pretended to look for boarding houses and checked the keys to the boarding room above the electric meter or on the shoes that the victim placed in front of the boarding room", he added.
From the hands of the perpetrators, the police confiscated evidence of the crimes including MacBooks, iPhones, and gold rings to Oppo cellphones.

The perpetrators of the interrogation admitted that they acted at the boarding house on Dewi Sita Street Seminyak, Kuta, Badung, the boarding house on Tambak Sari Street, Kedonganan Kuta, the boarding house on Mertanadi Street, Kuta, the boarding house in the South Kuta area and the boarding house in the South Denpasar area.
"The person concerned is a recidivist who just came out 7 months ago in Kerobokan Prison, the victims are all Indonesian citizens and carry out their own actions", he said.
The perpetrator was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft with a threat of 7 years in prison.
