Hotman Paris Considers Policing Land Owners In Depok Rudi Samin About Slander JNE Hoarding President's Assistance

JAKARTA - JNE's attorney, Hotman Paris, said he would consider reporting the owner of the land in Depok named Rudi Samin. This is considered because it has tarnished the good name of the company PT Tiki Jalur Nugraha Eka Kurir (JNE) as its client.

“I am considering reporting to the police or civil. (Because) you know that the trigger for all of this is slander," he said at a press conference, at Pantai Mutiara, Jakarta, Thursday, August 4.

Hotman said, Rudi had accused his client of hoarding the president's social assistance rice. In fact, continued Hotman, JNE has never hoarded rice.

“Lie dong, slander people claiming to hoard presidential aid even though his goal is to fight for his land. JNE has become a victim of slander. JNE has never hoarded the president's aid but disposed of it by burying it," he said.

According to Hotman, if JNE's goal is to hoard for profit, it is impossible for JNE to throw away the rice and replace it at its own expense.

“With the fact that the rice was disposed of by pouring it on the ground, you have seen that there was no intention of corruption. It's just because the (damaged) employee was dumped into the warehouse, because the more full it was, then the disposal site was sought. Companies like that are everywhere," he said.

Hotman explained that the rice burial was carried out because the rice was damaged. In accordance with the agreement if the goods are damaged, then JNE must replace the goods.

The way, he said, was to ask for additional rice from PT StoreSend Elogistic Indonesia (SSI) as Bulog's partner by providing an official report regarding the damage to rice. Furthermore, the report is given to Bulog.

Furthermore, Hotman admitted that an official report was needed to access additional rice. He said, without an official report, Bulog would not issue additional rice.

"So JNE received 6,199 tons of rice, only 3.4 tons were damaged or 0.05 percent. According to the contract, if there is damage, then the responsibility of JNE. JNE must replace it with new rice," he said.

Hotman said, the damaged rice was worth Rp. 37 million and had been replaced by JNE by deducting the honorarium received by JNE from PT SSI. This means that the damaged rice is fully owned by JNE.

"Because the replacement rice has been replaced with JNE's money, the damaged rice belongs to JNE. Because it was rotten, finally an initiative was sought so that this rice was thrown away by burying it,” he said.

Hotman explained that the rice was buried after being stored for 1.5 years starting from May 2020 to November 2021. The consideration of burying it was because JNE was afraid that the rice would be misused if it was thrown into a landfill.

“This is also a bit sensitive and at that time JNE thought where to go because it had a logo. Precisely because JNE was too careful. If it is dumped on the street, there will be a Banpres logo that will be accused of abusing JNE. Because they are too careful, so they are stored for a long time,” he explained.
