M. Taufik Has Not Yet Resigned From The Gerindra Party
JAKARTA - Gerindra Party politician, Mohamad Taufik admitted that he had not submitted his resignation letter as a Gerindra cadre even though he had planned to resign some time ago.
"Until now, I haven't (resigned from Gerindra) yet," said Taufik when contacted, Friday, July 22.
Taufik chose to wait for the dismissal decision from Gerindra. Because, Taufik had been proposed to be fired before he officially resigned.
The dismissal proposal was based on the recommendation of the Gerindra Party Honorary Council (MKP). However, the decision to sack Taufik rests with General Chairman Prabowo Subianto through the Gerindra Party Leadership Council (DPP).
"In fact, until now I haven't been fired, so I don't resign," said Taufik.
Currently, there is pressure from the East Jakarta Gerindra Party DPC for Taufik to be fired immediately. The DPC Gerindra East Jakarta also sued Prabowo as the Chair of the Gerindra Board of Trustees and sued the DPP Gerindra to the court to immediately implement the recommendation for the dismissal of Taufik as proposed by the MKP.
Regarding this matter, Taufik is reluctant to respond much. Because, according to him, the East Jakarta DPC does not have the authority to pressure the DPP to make a decision.
"I don't have to respond. At that time, I was proposed to be fired, right. So that's what the lawsuit was also wrong. They sued as if I had been fired, even though it was only a proposal," he explained.

As is known, on June 2, Taufik confirmed that he was planning to leave the Gerindra Party. Taufik said he wanted to submit his resignation on June 22.
However, on June 7, Gerindra's MKP issued a recommendation for Taufik's dismissal to the Gerindra DPP. The chairperson of the Gerindra MKP session explained that the decision on the proposed dismissal was based on a fairly long process of accumulation of mistakes and violations that had been committed by Taufik as a Gerindra Party cadre, starting from the 2019 presidential election until now.
