ARSC Researcher: The Public Wants Three Candidate Pairs In The 2024 Presidential Election
JAKARTA - Grassroots Strategic Consulting (ARSC) said the public wants the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres) to be attended by more than two pairs of candidates. This desire is taken from the responses of 1,225 respondents.
ARSC researcher Bagus Balghi said 29.9 percent of respondents said the 2024 presidential election was ideal for two pairs of candidates to participate. While the rest chose three pairs of candidates or more.
"32.3% chose the 2024 presidential election followed by three pairs and 18.4 percent followed by four pairs", said Bagus when releasing the results of the online survey, Wednesday, July 20.
While the rest, 13.2 percent of respondents said it was up to them and the remaining 3.8 percent said they didn't know and 2.3 percent did not answer.
"More than two dominant candidate pairs are expected by the public in the upcoming 2024 election", said Bagus.
Furthermore, Bagus said that the combination of the general chairman and popular figures in the survey was approved by 65.1 percent and 34.9 percent not approved.
Meanwhile, for popular figures in the survey, 60 percent of the respondents agreed with political party leaders and 40 percent of respondents did not. Then, the two leaders of political parties were approved by 50.2 percent and both popular figures were approved by 63.4 percent.

The ARSC survey, which captured the electability of presidential and vice-presidential candidates, was attended by 1,225 adult respondents who participated in the 2019 election. Sampling was carried out using a multistage random sampling method with a margin of error of +/- 2.8 percent at a 95 percent confidence level. Data collection was carried out from June 21 to July 5 by telephone interview. Respondents were given a structured questionnaire.
