Handling Of Police Shooting Police Cases, House Of Representatives Commission III: The Credibility Of The National Police Chief Is At Stake
JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives Commission III Didik Mukriyanto said the credibility of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo was at stake in the handling of the police shooting case at the shelter for the Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo.
"Definitely (at stake, ed)," said Didik to VOI, Friday, July 15.
According to Didik, public trust in the National Police will decrease if the National Police Chief and his special team are unable to transparently disclose the issues being handled and happening at the Bhayangkara Corps. "Before I saw that in recent years the image of the police in the public has increased. With this case, if the police are not able to answer public questions, do not show the integrity and professionalism of the Police, public trust will definitely decrease," said Didik.
Therefore, the Democrat Party politician asked the National Police and a special team to continue to convey the development of the police shooting case to the public step by step. Disclosure of the case, said Didik, must be opened transparently without anything being covered up. "This case has already attracted the attention of all parties and the public, it is certain that Commission III, especially plus the President, has given attention. Thank God, the National Police Chief has responded to the attention by forming a special team.
Shooting exchanges between members of the National Police took place at the shelter for the Head of the Propam Division of the National Police Inspector General Ferdy Sambo in the Duren Tiga area, South Jakarta, on Friday, July 8 afternoon.
The shootout was carried out by the aide of Inspector General Sambo, Bharada E, with Brigadier Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat alias J.
Brigadier J is known to be at the location, serving as a driver for Inspector General Sambo's wife, Putri Ferdy Sambo. He was shot dead by Bharada E.
