Regional Disaster Management Agency Helicopters Deployed To Fight Land Fires In Riau
PEKANBARU - Head of the Riau Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), M Edy Afrizal, said helicopters had been deployed to support efforts to extinguish forest and land fires that occurred in several parts of Riau.
"We have dispatched a water-bombing helicopter to Rokan Hilir to deal with the fire there, while to (handling) the fire in Rokan Hulu this afternoon we sent a helicopter there because currently, the other water bombing helicopter is under repair", he said in Pekanbaru as reported by ANTARA, Monday, July 11.
"The fire in Dumai has been extinguished, it's just a matter of cooling it down", he added.
A total of 94 hotspots indicating forest and land fires were monitored in Kampar Regency, Dumai City, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Siak Regency, Rokan Hilir Regency, and Rokan Hulu Regency.
According to him, the most hotspots are in Rokan Hilir (68) and Rokan Hulu (19) areas.

In addition, he said, hotspots on Monday were monitored in the areas of Rokan Hilir (4), Rokan Hulu (2), and Dumai (1).
In Rokan Hilir Regency, hotspots were observed in Labuhan Tangga Besar Village, Bangko District; Teluk Value Village, Kubu District; Lenggadai Hulu Village, Rimbo Melintang District; and Raja Bejamu Village, Sinaboi District.
Hotspots were also observed in Sialang Jaya Village and Sukamaju Village, Rambah District, Rokan Hulu Regency and Lubuk Gaung Village, Sungai Sembilan District, Dumai City.
