Hunt For 1 DPO Of Poso Terrorists, Extended Madago Raya Operation In Central Sulawesi

SULTENG - The Regional Police of Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) has again extended the Madago Raya operation to hunt for a suspected terrorist who is on the wanted list (DPO) in Sigi, Parigi Moutong, and Poso Regencies.

"Law enforcement operations against terrorism crimes in the Central Sulawesi region are entering phase III in 2022," explained the Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police, Police Commissioner Didik Supranoto, Wednesday, July 6.

Didik said that the Madago Raya operation phase II of 2022 had ended on June 30, 2022, in accordance with the telegram letter from the Sultan's Police Chief Number STR/189/VI/OPS.1.3/2022 dated June 27, 2022.

As of June 1, 2022, the operation to hunt down the remaining DPOs who are members of the East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) in Poso was extended according to the Central Sulawesi Police Chief's telegram No. STR/190/VI/OPS.1.3/2022.

"So since July 1, 2022, the number of personnel involved will be reduced again," said Didik, quoted by Antara.

Didik said that the hunt and chase were carried out with new techniques. Not only that, an operation was also carried out to stop the activities of sympathizers in the districts of Sigi, Parigi Moutong and Poso.

"The current condition of the DPO is confirmed to be in a state of urgency, so we continue to pursue them non-stop," he said.

The police hope that the community will no longer provide support to DPOs, both logistical and informational assistance.

"We have never stopped urging the MIT Poso terrorist DPOs to immediately surrender and face the legal process," he said.
