Top Netflix Weekly Rankings, Here's The Money Heist: Korea Player List
JAKARTA - Netflix series Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area made its debut by topping the weekly ranking of non-English TV shows on the platform.
Netflix said the remake of the Spanish series Money Heist had amassed 33.7 million viewing hours in the June 20-26 period and led the rankings for non-English TV programmes, Yonhap quoted on Thursday as saying. In fact, the new series was released on June 24.
Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area is the seventh Korean-language show to top the weekly rankings in the category after Squid Game, Hellbound, The Silent Sea, All of Us Are Dead, Juvenile Justice, and Business Proposal.
In addition, Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area also entered the top 10 in the ranking of the most watched non-English TV shows in 51 countries including South Korea and Thailand in that period.
Meanwhile, according to data from streaming analytics company FlixPatrol, Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area took second place on the daily global chart for TV programming on Netflix last Tuesday.
The series is popular in 16 countries including South Korea, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Maldives, Morocco, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area tells the story of a group of people from South Korea and North Korea robbing a bank in JEA. Police from both Koreas then teamed up to stop them.
The series stars Yoo Ji-tae, Kim Yun-jin, Park Hae-soo, and Jun Jong-seo. Money Heist: Korea also brings together Lee Won Jong, Kim Ji Hoon, Jang Yoon Ju, Lee Hyun Woo, and Kim Ji Hun and Lee Kyu Ho.
