Prosecutor's Office Completes Corruption Case In KONI Padang Grant Fund
PADANG - The Padang District Attorney, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) has completed the indictment for three suspects in the alleged corruption case of grant funds from the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Padang.
The three suspects in the case are the Chairperson of KONI for the 2018-2020 period with the initials AS, the Deputy Chairperson of KONI DV, and the Deputy Treasurer of KONI Nz.
"The Public Prosecutor's Team (JPU) has finished compiling the indictment, so that the case can be transferred to the court," said The Padang Attorney General's Special Crimes Section Head Therry Gutama as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 24.
He said that his party will transfer the files to the Padang Corruption Court (Tipikor) on Monday (27/6).
"After the delegation, we are waiting for the court's decision to hold the first trial," he said accompanied by the Head of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Budi Sastera.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Budi Sastera, explained that there were two indictments made by the Public Prosecutor's team in the alleged corruption case of KONI.
The former chairman of KONI Padang AS in a separate file, while the Deputy Chair of KONI DV and Deputy Treasurer of one KONI Nz in one file.
"The separation of files is carried out to facilitate evidence at trial, because the roles of the suspects vary according to their positions," he explained.
The case of alleged misappropriation of KONI Padang Grant funds for the 2018 to 2020 fiscal years cost the state finances of IDR 3.1 billion based on the audit results.
Therry revealed that throughout the investigation process the Padang Attorney General's Office had examined more than 60 witnesses from the background of the Padang KONI management, sports branch administrators, and ASN at the local Youth and Sports Service. The Padang Attorney General's Office has also confiscated more than 200 documents as evidence.
