Great! State Budget Still Surplus IDR 132 Trillion In May 2022

JAKARTA – The performance of the 2022 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) continues a positive trend with a surplus of IDR 132.2 trillion in the May period.

The Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, said that this notch was obtained from state revenues which were higher at IDR 1,070.4 trillion compared to state expenditures of IDR 938.2 trillion.

“This is an extraordinary reversal of our fiscal. Imagine in May 2021 we have a deficit of IDR 219.2 trillion", she said while giving a presentation through virtual channels on Thursday, June 23.

According to the Minister of Finance, this good result was driven by the growth of tax revenues to IDR 705.8 trillion which has reached 55.8 percent of the target in the 2022 State Budget.

Likewise, customs and excise revenues have penetrated IDR 140.3 trillion, or 57.3 percent of the APBN. Then, for non-tax state revenues (PNBP) it was recorded that the realization was IDR 224.1 trillion or equivalent to 66.8 percent of the APBN target.

"The impact of commodity prices, export and import activities, manufacturing expansion, and the recovery in household consumption have supported the positive performance of state income", said the Minister of Finance.

According to VOI records, the APBN surplus has occurred since the beginning of this year. In January, there was a surplus of IDR 28.9 trillion, in February of IDR 19.7 trillion, in March a surplus of IDR 10.3 trillion, and in April, which had a surplus of IDR 103.1 trillion.
