National Police Chief Sigit Officially Formed A Research Team, His Task Was To Research The Results Of The KKEP Session On The Brotoseno AKBP

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has officially formed a research team regarding the results of the Police Code of Conduct Commission (KKEP) trial, AKBP Raden Brotoseno. The formation of this team is part of the process of reviewing the decision (PK).

"Kapolri General Listyo Sigit has formed a team to conduct research on the decision of the National Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) No. PUT/72/X/2020 dated October 13, 2020 against AKBP Brotoseno violators," said Head of the Propam Police Division Inspector General Ferdy Sambo in his statement, Wednesday, June 22.

The formation of this team was based on the order (sprint) of the National Police Chief number sprin/1426/VI/RES/1.24/2022 dated June 22, 2022.

This team consists of 12 people from several divisions. In addition, the research team was led by the Inspector of Region V Itwasum Polri Brigadier General Hotman Simatupang.

"The research team consists of 12 personnel consisting of the Police General Inspectorate Personnel, Polri HR Personnel, Polri DivPropam Personnel, and Polri Divkum Personnel," he said.

Then, continued Sambo, this team will evaluate the results of the KKEP trial decision no later than two weeks. Later, the results of the evaluation will be submitted to the National Police Chief as a consideration to determine the next steps related to AKBP Brotoseno.

"The research team will report the results of the research by providing suggestions and considerations to the National Police Chief to form a Commission for Review of the Code of Ethics," said Sambo.

The formation of this team is also a follow-up to the Regulation of the Indonesian National Police (Perpol) Number 7 of 2022 concerning the Professional Code of Ethics and the Police Code of Ethics Commission which has been officially promulgated.

Brotoseno is a member of the National Police with the rank of Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police (AKBP). He had served in the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

In the course of his career, Brotoseno stumbled upon a corruption case in rice field printing in Ketapang, West Kalimantan.

Based on the results of the trial at the Corruption Court (Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court in decision number 26 of 2017, Raden Brotoseno was found guilty and sentenced to 5 years in prison and a fine of IDR 300 million.

With this decision, Raden Brotoseno has been in detention since 2017. Until finally, he was released on parole since February 2020, and was released purely at the end of September 2020. He was released early because he received a parole program. Raden Brotoseno received a remission of 13 months 25 days.

After his release, Brotoseno returned to duty in the Bhayangkara Corps. Because, he was not fired from the Police institution. Based on the results of the professional ethics trial, Brotoseno was only sentenced to a demotion.
