Arsenal Confirm Departure Of Alexandre Lacazette, Arteta: We Wish Him And His Family Success And Happiness
JAKARTA - Premier League club Arsenal confirmed the departure of striker Alexandre Lacazette when his contract expires at the end of June after five years with the Gunners.
Lacazette's departure from Arsenal, as quoted by Antara from Sky Sports, Saturday, comes after the club did not offer a contract extension for the 31-year-old player.
In a statement on the club's official website, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta and Technical Director Edu bid farewell and made an impression on Lacazette.
Arteta thanked Lacazette for being an outstanding player during his time at the Emirates Stadium and viewed the Frenchman as a leader.
"He is a true leader on and off the pitch and has been an important influence on our young players. His commitment to us has been incredible and we wish him and his family success and happiness," said Arteta.
In line with Arteta, Edu thanked Lacazette for his contribution during his time at Arsenal and considered the player to have become an important part for the Gunners.

Alexandre Lacazette came from Olympique Lyon to Arsenal in July 2017 for a transfer fee of 53 million euros or around IDR 820 billion and was able to donate an FA Cup title and Community Shield for the North London club.
During his time at Arsenal, the 31-year-old Frenchman made 206 appearances in various competitions and contributed 71 goals and 36 assists from 13,217 minutes played.
