JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police has identified the suspect as the perpetrator of the robbery of the expedition courier, Chandra Hermawan (20) in front of the Kemayoran Police Dormitory, which occurred last Friday, May 27.

"We have got the characteristics of the perpetrators of the hijacking. Members are still on the field pursuing them," said Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasatreskrim) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Gunarto when confirmed in Jakarta, Tuesday, May 31.

Gunarto said that his party had checked from surveillance cameras (CCTV) around the location of the robbery, to be precise on Angkasa Street, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

A number of witnesses have also been questioned so that the perpetrators can be caught immediately.

The victim of the robbery, Chandra Hermawan, admitted that in addition to his motorbike being robbed, he was also hit by a sharp weapon on the left cheek and received at least 11 stitches.

The chronology began when Chandra and his partner crossed Angkasa Street and pushed a friend's motorbike that broke down by sticking his foot on the exhaust at around 05.00 western Indonesia time.

Then, he realized that three people had been following them from Industrial Street, which was about 1.5 kilometers from the scene.

While in front of the Police Dormitory Football Field, the perpetrator immediately attacked the victim by kicking, but missed.

The robbers shouted for the victim to stop carrying the motorbike and the three perpetrators attacked with sharp weapons.

"I was hit with a sickle because I was trying to save the motorbike. My eyes were also bruised because when I turned around, my body hit a tree," he said.

Chandra hopes that the gang of gangsters will be caught and automatic motorbikes to support his daily work will return soon.

"I usually use the motorbike to deliver goods. I work at Shoppee. If I don't have a motorbike, I will be confused later to work," said Chandra.
