The two teams will meet in the 2021/2022 Champions League final at the Stade de France, Paris on Sunday 29 May in the early hours of WIB. In the decisive match, Liverpool actually appeared dominant, but Mohamed Salah et al could not tear down Thibaut Courtois' guard under the crossbar.
On the other hand, El Real could actually take advantage of the gap in Alisson Becker's goal. Real Madrid also confirmed themselves as the owner of the Big Ear trophy thanks to Vinicius Junior's only goal in the 59th minute.
Despite appearing to be attacking, Jurgen Klopp admitted he was dizzy and indecisive throughout the match. Because he was faced with a situation that went awry.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach said that if his team played not aggressively, they would not score. On the other hand, if they were too aggressive, they would be hit back.
"We wanted to play more formations in the second half than their formation, but the problem is when we play against Madrid who defends so deep", said Jurgen Klopp, quoted on the club's official website.
"Their counter-attack threat is big, you can't ignore that, I see we saw a lot of good things, but it's not enough and we have to accept it", he added.
Furthermore, Klopp also admitted that Carlo Ancelotti had successfully implemented brilliant tactics in his team. Therefore, Klopp did not hesitate to congratulate Carlo Ancelotti who managed to silence his team with his pragmatic game.
Not to forget Klopp also praised Thibaut Courtois' performance throughout the match.
"After the game, I looked at the stats and it was a 50:50 game, we had more shots on target, but the most decisive was on the side of Madrid", he said.
