COVID-19 Cases In Riau Islands Only 2 Patients, Live In Batam And Bintan
JAKARTA - The Riau Islands COVID-19 Task Force recorded only two active cases of COVID-19 in the region. This is after two other patients were declared cured.
Daily Head of the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force Adi Prihantara, Saturday, May 28, said that there was one active case of COVID-19 in Batam and Bintan.
"Alhamdulillah, only two active cases of COVID-19 remain. Hopefully they will recover soon," said the Riau Islands Regional Secretary, quoted from Antara.
Of the five other regencies and cities in Riau Islands, namely Tanjungpinang, Karimun, Natuna, Anambas Islands, and Lingga, there were no active cases of COVID-19. Of the seven districts and cities in the region, only Lingga is designated as a green zone.
"Six regencies and cities are still in yellow zone status or the risk of transmission is low. Hopefully in the near future Anambas and Natuna will follow Lingga as a green zone," he said.
Spokesperson for the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Tjetjep Yudiana, stated that the active cases of COVID-19 in the province were increasingly under control as the community's immunity increased. People's immune system is formed naturally and also through vaccination.
"We urge the public to support the COVID-19 vaccination program. Currently, public interest in vaccination is decreasing," said the former Head of the Riau Islands Health Service.
The achievement of vaccination in Riau Islands for the first dose reached 1,760,602 people or 97.66 percent, the second dose was 1,515,606 people or 84.07 percent and the third dose (booster) was 602,973 people or 43.90 percent.
